Variable-Rate Crop Protection Maps

If you have a problem with weeds in your fields and you own a precision sprayer, spot spraying is a very cost-effective solution.

First, we use a drone to survey your fields. We identify the weed patches and map their exact location and size. Then, we create an application map so your sprayer only treats these specific patches. This means you can avoid spraying a large amount of chemicals where they are not needed. If the weeds are only in certain parts of the field, you will also save a lot of fuel. This gives you more time for other important jobs on your farm.

Why spot spraying works

The spot spraying maps have a „resolution.” This means the smallest area we map for spraying matches the size of your sprayer’s width, or your section control width if you have it. This way, every application map we create is fully customized for the specific machines you own.

We use drones for our surveys, not satellites. Satellite images are not detailed enough to see the exact size of weed patches. Also, satellite images are not new enough to deal with an immediate problem like weeds. Spot spraying does not use management zones. This is because weed patches can appear anywhere and are not related to the soil’s quality. We must create a unique, real-time plan for each field.

Our service includes:

  • Exporting VRA maps to the machine monitor,
  • Real-time drone survey,
  • Delineation of weed patches,
  • Planning VRA spot spraying maps.
